From Dropout to Carpenter
At 20 years of age, Durgesh was struggling. He was a school dropout and had turned to drugs. His life was without purpose and without hope.
Then some of the community staff at Champa Christian Hospital got to know Durgesh and introduced him to the Nai Disha (“new direction”) program. In speaking with the program staff, he admitted to his addiction, his bad habits, and his poor choice of friends. Receiving guidance from the caring staff, he decided to learn carpentry. Over time, he decreased his dependence on drugs.
Now Durgesh’s life is completely transformed. He is focused on carpentry work and supporting himself. He desires to help other students come to this community outreach program so they can get help, too. Through hard work and the right guidance, Durgesh has found a new path toward a brighter future.
