Where Are We Renewing Hope?

Champa Christian Hospital sits in the heart of Chhattisgarh, a region of central India where many families face significant economic hardship and access to healthcare can be limited.

The surrounding Champa district is largely rural, with more than 1.1 million people living in rural areas. The region also experiences intense seasonal extremes—from summer temperatures approaching 49°C (120°F) to a heavy monsoon season that brings more than 1,100 mm (43 inches) of rain.

Champa is connected by road and rail, but major medical centers and metropolitan resources are still far away. Raipur, the state capital, is roughly 175 km (108.74 miles) from the district headquarters, while larger cities such as Nagpur and Kolkata are hundreds of kilometers away.

For families living in poverty, traveling long distances for medical care can be a significant barrier. That is why Champa Christian Hospital matters.

For 100 years, this hospital has provided care in a place where accessible, affordable healthcare is deeply needed. Today, its team is working to rebuild its services and remain a source of care for the community.
