Champa Christian Hospital Fights to Stay Open
In spite of struggling to stay above water for the past three years, Champa Christian Hospital celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. A lack of medical professionals, financial struggles, and a drastic decline in patient services has brought this hospital to the brink of closure. But the recent addition of an OB/GYN, a radiologist, and a junior doctor, as well as a seasoned administrator, has infused new hope. Steps are steadily being taken to rebuild connections between the hospital and the community.
Over the next three years, the team plans to rebuild the hospital around core services such as maternal and child health, emergency care, surgery, and diagnostic testing. They also intend to strengthen their community outreach programs so that healthcare reaches vulnerable populations before illness becomes advanced and untreatable.
Champa’s long-term vision is not simply to increase patient numbers, but to ensure that quality healthcare remains accessible regardless of a patient’s financial circumstances. They want to build a hospital where clinical excellence, financial stewardship, and compassionate service work together so that no person is denied timely diagnosis or treatment because of poverty. Will you join them in working toward this goal?
