There are several equipment purchases, facility improvements, and staff support changes that comprise Harriet Benson Memorial Hospital’s greatest needs.

If they could purchase a modern ultrasound machine to use with pregnant mothers and to use for patient diagnostics, their care would improve significantly across the hospital.

The hospital has fallen behind on staff salaries, and the leadership is anxious to settle these shortfalls.

The two palliative care teams drive some distances daily to take care of palliative patients and patients with disabilities. Their current vehicles are quite old and need replacing.

If the hospital could obtain a mammogram machine, the staff could begin to offer this service in their area, as it is not available currently. This would bring new patients to the hospital.

The oldest building on the hospital campus is the Bacon Bungalow. The hospital is required to keep this facility in good shape or risk losing their land. Some funding is needed for improvements to the bungalow.
