New Staff Housing Needed at BMCH
Many of EHA’s locations are in dire need of more staff housing of one type or another. You may ask: Why do they provide housing for the staff on the hospital campuses? The answer is complicated. There is a lack of affordable, decent, and appropriate housing in the rural areas near EHA’s hospitals. Another issue is safety—sometimes there is a need for staff to be inside the hospital campus walls due to riots, persecution, or other unsafe situations. And of course when doctors are on call, they must be nearby to help.

New Staff Housing Needed at BMCH
Burrows Memorial Christian Hospital (BMCH) needs additional housing for single doctors. On the left you can see what the current housing looks like. When you think of doctors’ housing, you may be picturing something lavish—after all, physicians in the States own nice houses. The building BMCH is planning to construct will hold two units that have tiny kitchens and bathrooms as well as a 12’ X 15’ bedroom/living room. Try to picture a 250 sq. ft. studio apartment with a 12’X5’ verandah attached. On the left you can see a drawing of the proposed building.
The construction cost for this two-unit house is just $15,000. Won’t you give to help provide housing for two hardworking doctors at BMCH?
