Life-Giving Oxygen in Good Supply
During the severe second wave of COVID-19 in India, there was a desperate need for oxygen supplies, and most of EHA’s hospitals had to send a driver to buy refilled oxygen tanks every day.
But thanks to the generous donations of US supporters and others around the world, EHA has made significant strides toward purchasing and installing oxygen generation equipment. Recently, Duncan, Chinchpada, and Madhipura Christian Hospitals each installed an oxygen generation plant, and several other locations have one on order. Most of the locations have also purchased oxygen concentrators and ventilators. Lakhnadon Community Hospital still needs an oxygen plant and ventilators.
The current needs include improving electrical systems and infrastructure as this new equipment is installed. Many of EHA’s buildings are 75 to 100 years old, and they simply need improvements before everything can be set up.
