Snapshots of Delhi
Driving through Delhi is an experience that’s not for the fainthearted. Painted lane lines seem to be only a general guideline, and everyone continually honks their horns. Besides the cars one would expect to see, there are bicycle rickshaws, cows, tractors, and tons of motorcycles.
Much of what you see is expected for a city of 22 million, such as tall office buildings, but alongside the road you can also see groups of people huddled around a bonfire, and as soon as we stopped at a stoplight, the children came to the car to beg for food or money. We also saw people pushing bicycle rickshaws heavily loaded with produce, hoping to sell their wares at local markets.
